Default Can you keep two boas together?

We were told when we bought our boas that we could keep them together in the same cage. We bought a male and female. We were told later by someone else that we shouldn't keep them in the same cage. How long can we keep our boas together?

are they both the same kind?same size?.the reason people dont house them together unless there breeding is becouse if one gets sick or a diseise the other one gets it.but yes it is ok.

like diablo said as long as they are the same species you can keep them in the same cage. however like diablo has also stated if something goes wrong you will have two sick snakes instead of one. the snakes may also compete for the better basking area or for the use of the water bowl. all in all in my opinion you really are better off keeping your snakes in seperate cages to avoid unwanted stress and possible health issues.

      Welcome to the forum!

I hope you find this as informative and helpful as I did when I first joined! I'm glad that you found your boa, they can be sneaky little devils sometimes.

This one is a debate. You will find many opinions when posting such a question. If the snakes are the same size, species, then it may seem fine, but to me I don't recommend housing them together. Any ailments one might acquire will be easily passed on to the other one. Keeping track of who went to the bathroom and other things would be nearly impossible. Most of all, snakes are not social; they do not need companions to be happy. While it may seem to us that they are happy, it is basically adding possible stress. Housing them together for breeding purposes is fine.
