      Default Mites and ticks-what does it look like

      Hey all.Im just wondering what mites and ticks look like on snakes.Ive never had them or seen any pics.Does anyone know a good link that shows good pics of both.Would be nice to know what i should be looking for,just in case.

      I can't find any pictures, but if you see any moving dots, they're probably mites. Especially if they're near your snake's eyes or bum. Ticks look like bumps that shouldn't be there.

      Well on dark snakes mites are hard to notice, unless you are looking for them. You can find the adults if not around or In! the eye socket, down the body of the snake by kind of gently grabing the skin to where the scale "open" to show some skin and look for tiny black or dark brown "spots" attached to the skin. A Full grown mite is only the size of a "3d" pen dot. I think I have pics somewhere on my pc of me showing this on my albino I will attach them here If I do still. To show the method described above and what a full grown mite looks like.

      and here is what the water will look like after soaking...these came off a rescue snake. Man what an investation.

      Hey thanks for that info.I hope i never get to see that on any of my snakes,knock on wood.I was more curious about mites.Ive seen a ball python with ticks at the petshop.He/she had a bad infestation also.
