      Default Should I be worried?

I've noticed that sometimes when I'm holding one of my boas, she opens her mouth slightly and makes a small "clicking" noise. There's no discharge or any other kind of abnormal behavior. Is this a symptom of something?

Probably adjusting her jaw. Keep a close watch on her is the best I can say really without seeing for myself.

She does it a lot though. I would estimate about every minute while im holding her most of the time. None of my other boas do it, so I dunno if we should worry, I'm probably gonna take all my snakes into the vet within the next week. Needa get one sexed, and the rest have a normal check up.

When in doubt have a vet check it. Try taking her into the bathroom when you take a shower and seeing what the steam does for her. How long have you had the boa? How big is she?

She's about 2 feet long. We've only had this one for almost 2 months. I'll try bringing her in some steam and see if it helps. But anyways, shes going to the vet during next week just in case.

Have you observed her doing this when she's in her cage, or not being held?

While it could be a RI, it could also be a stress issue. The ball python we rescued, use to make crazy sounds after a few minutes of holding him because he was so stresses out. Sometimes with my big boas, if they move a certain way, I can feel and sort of hear their organs shifting or something like that. It is weird, but it is not all the time. It is hard to explain actually...lol However, I would always consult a herp vet when there is a concern because you never know. The beginning of an RI does not always have to have discharge.

I don't really see her when shes in her cage, she always hides in her hide. I'll observe her in her cage later tonight.

All my boas cages are kept at 82F ambient air, its about 86F in the center of the cage, and 91-94F on the hot spot.

Well this is the snake I got from the pet store, so I wouldn't be surprised if it did have an RI. So if it is an RI, will all my snakes get it?

Most Likely not but I would say its similar to Pneumonia or a very bad chest cold in humans depending on how far along. So it could be some what air born, just something to think about.

Yep, if it is an RI it would depend what kind of bacteria caused it. Typically they are caused by opportunistic bacteria that the snake lives with that can take over when conditions are right (aka suppressed immune response due to stress, improper temps, etc). Some other bacterial pathogens can cause RIs though that as Lar said do have airborne characteristics.

i first noticed it about a week ago. Humidity is roughly around 55-60%. She's usually in her hide box which is in the middle of the middle of the tank and the cool side.

We have an appt for them all on Thursday, which is the soonest the vet could make an appt. But if she gets any worse (which it isnt even bad right now, maybe im just being paranoid) Im gonna bring her in as a walk in.
