This holdback male is SPECTACULARLY gorgeous and occasionally has a bit of an attitude to show for it. Despite being noticeably irritable, he was playing nice today...

If he was bigger than 3' long, I might have been intimidated! haha

In actuality, I would have been intimidated regardless of his size if I hadn't had my trusty glove with me. He struck me - well, he struck the glove (and I laughed) - about 2 dozen times. He was TICKED!

I'm very happy with the above pic (2nd/3rd), it's sharp all the way up to full size. So, if anyone wants a larger version for printing, desktop background, etc., just let me know. No... you can't sell prints

ps, @ClayEnglish ... PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE ditch the auto-resize feature on this forum. I made these pics 1200 pixels wide for the dramatic impact that an image that size makes and this forum just ruins my fun! lol But seriously... internet bandwidth isn't really an issue anymore, is it? And the vast majority of people have widescreen HD displays so browser width isn't an issue either. Don't ya think it's time to ditch the turn of the century image size restriction? Or even just bump it to 1200 or preferably, 1600-2000. C'mon man... be a pal...

Thanks! And yes... gloves! I'm a big fan Mostly because I have female anatomy where my courage should be! lol But seriously, I just don't like getting bit because of the itchiness! The blood doesn't bother me.... It just itches like MAD afterwards and I hate that! lol Plus, I don't want to bleed on my camera!

I agree I prefer not to take a bunch of bites or nips whatever the case, they do bleed and
that gets all over everything just absolutely inconvenient !


By the way Jb that new Camera you so patiently helped me pick out.

This is by far the very best Camera I've ever owned. Also it is so user friendly
I believe it's a perfect learning Camera.

I think I'll be able to use it in a way that allows me to use manual settings in or at many different levels of experience.

So I can set ISO and some other features, yet still use an Auto option but as I learn I can start to modify where and how I use Auto.

So I believe this Camera will actually allow me to practice and learn how to use a nice DSLR.

The crazy part is . . .this ELPH 100 actually takes the most wonderful images , I'm so happy!

It's a complete Joy working with this Camera I truly Love it and enjoy it.

The Auto focus even allows you to focus on an area more suitable it lets you shoot an area close to that which you decide.

It amazes how well it works, I can't wait to start fumbling around with manual focus and ISO type settings . . . .

The as is in Auto the images I get are so crisp and clear I'm dumb founded ! I may not ever want a different camera,
I feel like buying another one (same exact camera model) so this model is not discontinued and
I'll always have one to access and use for years to come !

I was more than happy to help you out and I'm SO GLAD you love that camera. Not sure if I'd buy a second one - camera tech just keeps getting better. In fact, I remember you saying you loved your previous P&S and would have bought another one instead of the new one you have now...

And don't worry, we'll get you into a DSLR soon enough! Actually... maybe not! I'm pretty sure Stef and I are going to pick up a Sony NEX camera and some lenses soon. I'm thinking those may be the future for us snake-folks! They have the same size sensor as a DSLR (which is what directly affects image quality), in fact, Sony is making many of Nikon's sensors in their DSLR's. The new Nikon D3200... Same sensor as the Sony NEX 7.

The NEX line cameras are the size of a P&S but have interchangeable lenses like DSLR's. So, you get all the image quality and versatility of a DSLR, but in a much smaller package. The ONLY downside I see right now is that they don't have a 60 or 100mm macro lens (either one would be fine but I prefer 60). They have a 30mm macro but that's not good enough for snakes.

I'd love to see some pics from that new camera when you have some to share I'll be happy to offer any advice if you want it!

Here's a full size version of the hissy fit http://www.deviantconstrictors.com/i...IMG_4109fs.JPG It's 10MB in size! lol It's an 18 megapixel image so it's not small by any means. I saved it at 350ppi, but you could certainly adjust that. I think standard ppi is 180. At 180, that should give a 19"x29" print if you don't crop.

As you'll see, the eye and glottis and nice and detailed. Should print well and there's certainly enough real estate there for aggressive cropping! No watermark either. Have fun!

My boy from that litter tends to get a little agitated sometimes, he's not that nasty but sometimes you can tell he's about to let you have it if you don't stop messing with him. Great pictures JB, thanks for showing him, he's looking awesome.

Yeah, I think one or two came out and I too noticed that I believe one, maybe two are cracked off. No biggie. It happens to them all the time
