      Default 3 cats in 1 enclosure--which one???

I just checked out my cat litter and saw that the newspaper under their box is full of pinkish colored urine soaked in. I have three cats and none of them is acting weird, sqatting or any other symptoms so I'm at a loss. My male siamese used to have chronic infection at one time but that has cleared a couple years ago and has not had it since and he is not acting the way he did at that time. I guess I'll just be spying on their litter box room and see if I can catch some urine from all 3 of them. Aside from this I'm kind of out of options besides taking each of them to the vet. I'm afraid this might be a lot of blood because it was a whole paper unfolded and it took up most of the paper in a pinkish hue. I'm kinda scared right now.

Sounds like one of your cats has a UTI. Get them checked. They don't have to make a mess else where, but it's the first sign of a UTI. Time to go to the vet

I'm guesssing I'll have to take my male siamese first since he's the most likely culpret and he won't pee in front of me. My girls will but haven't yet (only to dirty the cat pan right after cleaning of course).

A good vet shouldn't charge you much, if at all, to get your cat checked out, especially if you tell them the situation. My vet is really good about that.

The Siamese breed tend to get the infections very easily plus males get them more often then females. Our one Male who is a cross of Siamese and domestic short hair, he used to get infections a lot. We put him on a diet which helped him. Haven't had an infection for a few years now.
Also, he may be getting the infection because of his age. A lot of older cats are prone to get nfections very quickly.

Yes to both. He is about 9 years old and had problems with them previiously. We had him on a special diet but he started gaining too much weight so we started mixing his urinary tract food with weight control food and weaned him to only weight control about 2 years ago with no UTI relapse. I guess now I'll be going back to mixing and hoping that helps because he's still 13 lbs and with his age shouldn't gain any more. He also has congenital heart disease so weight is a big issue.

Thanks for the replies. He's going in tomorrow to see the vet and I'm just glad he is not uncomfortable (I'm 90% sure it is him).

I hope everything works out with them. I work at a cat boarding facility, so I'm used to checking constantly for any signs of illness, etc. The only way you could tell for sure (without taking them to the vet) is if they were seperated and used seperate litter boxes.

If it is your siamese, I hope he gets better!

Well I've seen each of them go except for him because he runs anytime somebody walks in on him to the bathroom and won't go if you follow him in there. Rayne and Sara are both fine. The vet is coming to the house today so we'll see. I guess this is just a sign that he still needs the special diet food for UTI mixed with the weight mgmt food. IAMS just came out with a food for multi-cat families that is supposed to be good for overweight and underweight so we have been switching to that. I'll just have to mix in 1/3, 1/3 and 1/3 for a while I guess until I can wean them to 1/2 and 1/2. There goes letting the kids feed the cats for me.

      Thanks for the well wishes.

I'm not positively sure about cat diets, but I know that a lot of the cats with urinary problems and sensitive stomach are on "Prescription Diet" "Eukaneuba" and shucks... I forgort the third... I'll look for it today when I go into work. When it comes to the more specific diets, the "higher end" stuff is usually the way to go.

Thanks, they actually all turn out to have a clean bill of health and I'm a supurb idiot. LOL. I looked on the paper and there was no red, pink, orange or anything and it turns out it is a chemical reaction with a colored ink. I can't stop laughing at my insanity. BUT....we are going back on the diet as a precaution since I've been so freaked out. We used the Purina One Urinary health mixed with the Healthy Weight Mgmt and had good luck with it and it is so readily available. Hopefully we'll have no more problems. I will ask my vet though if he recommends me switching to one of the other brands. The higher priced the food it seems the less they eat so it works out financially in the end.

Thanks guys and gals. I feel so foolish but hey, I'll take a clean bill of health for a little embarrasement any day.
