Default F/T Hoppers to F/T Rats

Hello everyone, I have a baby boa how is on f/t hoppers as of now and I was wondering when I should try and get her to eat f/t baby rats? I don't want to have the same problem that I have with my 3 year old that I got when she was two. She will only eat f/t mice. My baby boa is between the size of a quarter and a half dollar. A hopper shows very little in her tummy.

You could try that any time, just be sure to "up-size" the feeders gradually. Boas generally don't object to variety in prey items, so I'd be surprised if yours did.

And one way to change over your other snake is to first feed an undersized mouse (her preferred food) & after she swallows that & is still pumped up for prey, offer
a very small rat...I'd be very surprised if she didn't take it. Just be sure that the 2 items together aren't much bigger than the one item you have been feeding, ok?
After you feed that way a few times (so the 3 yr. old is used to taking small rats) try feeding them solo, without the mouse "appetizer".
