Default IG desperatly needs forever home

I wanted to throw this out there but won't have full details until I can get into my email at home.

This poor Ig is already seeking a new home AGAIN. I placed this one about 6 months back with a girl who was so thrilled about getting an Ig. She did her research, the was in contact with me for a month or so before taking the Ig in asking questions making sure she knew all she needed to know. SHe had a herp vet. Now I got word last night that she went away to college and has to find a home for the Ig. She didn't even tell me she went straight to the adoption site she found it on. Of course they contacted me asking me if I could take it back. I had to take a mental break from dealing with Igs for a while in terms of fosters...but I want to be invloved in finding this one a home. This one went through hell...before coming into my care. I went to pick up some rabbits from a women who just had too many...and when I walk to the yard their were two Igs sitting there in a rabbit hutch no heat a plate of wilted lettuce and a water dish...it was cold out that day no shelter from the weather. The person knew nothing about Igs and had picked them up from a friends house who had been incarcerated. The original owner obviously negelected these two as well. The smaller one had skin infection, eye soar and bad MBD the larger (this one) was a bit better off. Both were taken to the vet and treated with Baytril for the bacteria infections they had. I took care of them for while months actually until they were adoptable. Now this one is coming back.

If there is anyone that can take this Ig PLEASE get in contact with me.

I hate hearing these types of stories. It seems to me that Iguanas are the most "disposed-of" of all pets. I adopted mine from a very loving family who were sad to give up their pet. They had the iguana for five years and claimed to take the best care of him, yet when I arrived to pick him up, he was eating lettuce, living in a cage that was too small, and did not have UVB light. I have since amended those particular things, but it is especially wrenching to hear about neglected iguanas.

I work part-time at a respected aquarium store and have had fish for 14 years. I currently have 3 RTBs, 2 BPs, a green iguana, and a black iguana. After all this time, I have realized that 90% of people who have pets, shouldn't. Just my .02

Igs and giant snakes are what I see so often thrown away and negelcted. Igs require sooo much care that people are unaware off. They need to stop selling these babies for 17-20 dollars. Igs don't make very good pets for most people.

I see igs all over the place sunning, if not on the side of the roads that have been hit by cars. I also read a few times a month about a large Boids being found under a house, behind a warehouse, ate someone's cat or dog, etc.

I've also even seen a number of monitor lizards as well dead on the side of roads, it's sad and very upsetting!

Especially when you continue to see these animals sold freely for $8.00-$15.00 at many pet shops.
