Hi, everyone, well here it goes..Just brought baby(RTB) home on the 9th, he is a big boy 5 1/2 feet, upgraded his home, to a bigger one, he needed it. I know he ate the week I picked him up, but hasn't eaten since. I have tried 4 or 5 times, and with no luck, I have spoken to original owner, was told feeds late night, so tried that too. He is on frozen!
How long can the adjustment period last? How long to I wait to try again to feed? What is too long to go without food? Thanks for any help you have to offer!

Re: New Baby, need a question or two answered!
Welcome to the forums.
You don't have a baby at 5.5 feet. You have a sub-adult. At that length, he/she is probably 2 yrs. or older.
Check out the Ultimate Care Guide. It's got all kinds of good info.
As for how long the adjustment period lasts, that varies from boa to boa. It can be different for every one of them. Just be patient with him/her. They can go a while without food before you need to panic.
Hope this helps.
We love pics! Please post some when you get a chance!

Sean gave good advice. I would only try to feed it every 2 weeks. Dont worry a boa that size can go for a very long time without eating and have no ill effects from it. Most boas in the wild are lucky to eat 8 times a year

Thanks, I know he is technically not a baby, but, he is my first boa. Just finished the download on the care book, and thanks for the input, will post photos as soon as I figure out how! Thanks again...

Your first will always be your favorite. Boas are like potato chips though. You cant just have one.... Good luck with him!
