Well its been 109 days from POS and nothing yet, no waxy stools either.... IŽm growing impatient... we had heavy rain days 106 and 107 but she refused to give them up LOL.
the truth is that my boas have not been kept at stable 80-84 F at the cool end. ( though the warm end has always been kept at 90-92F). the ambient temperature has varied quite a bit and we have had some days as low as the 60Žs. (but the warm end was always stable at 92 and the boa spent most of these days on the heat).
today was very sunny and hot, the temperatures at mid day hit 95F. tomorow and the next days forecast promise to be just as hot!!

what is the limit in days? when should I start to wory that she has retained the young? what health signs should i look for if she doesŽnt deliver?
IŽll try spraying tonight...
thanks!!

I have to believe she knows what she's doing.

If it gets up around 120 POS then I would get anxious

I think you'll see a waxy stool and litter within the next 4-5 days

Has she gotten restless at all ?

Started preparing a nest ?

If does that and then more than 4-5 days go by that would be a
sign that could make me anxious

I think she is alright just cooking them long to be
certain they are healthy

P.S. can you provide some Aspen for her to make a nest in ?

I like Aspen Boas like Aspen for nesting

She hasŽnt gotten realy restless... but she does move around a bit more and lays differently, not so tight as in the heat conservation position but more stretched out and flat.

I think this is do to the extreme hot weather weŽve had these days with the highs being almost 100F. she keeps her tail twisted right at the cloaca as if she was holding them.

Ill provide some wood shavings for her but I dont think IŽll be able to find pure aspen here in Bolivia... I keep some boas on mixed wood shavings I get from carpinter work houses and they seem to do OK.

Do you think its a good idea to wait until day 120 and if nothing happens, try feeding? that will tell me she is not feeling so bad and it may give the babys a push... LOL just curious....

Thank you very much Boa Amarali!!! youŽre advice has been of great help through this whole process.
Thank again, and IŽll post some pictures of the parturition when it happens. if it does of course... LOL

Do not feed anytime until after birth. Feeding in the last weeks before birth can kill the babies.

I actually know this one from experience as well as other breeders know this too.

If her tail is kinked she knows what she's doing.

I'm pretty certain it'll only be a few more days.

Just don't feed her !

day 117 and nothing yet...she had a small waxy stool on day 112 and has had small contractions since day 114.

since last night contractiones increased in frecuency and intensity (around 1 every 3 to 5 min. on avarage) moving the posterior half of the body in šSš forms and tightening the abdominal walls as if she was obviously trying to push something out.

today in the afternoon she is still having these contractions and is moving slowly around the cage with every contraccion.

is it normal for boas to go through such a prolonged period of contractions??

P.S: I have not and will not feed her...
