I'm going with two 421D for my two redtails and I need one for my BP What would be a good size?

Also I would like to just be able to plug it in and go. So I would like to have heat and maybe light already to go. That being said I can't make up my mind on what kind of heating setup I want to use?

As far as lighting goes. What about the UVA and UVB lights?

Where I keep my snakes they don't get a lot of natural sunlight. So I would like to give them something.

Hey guys.

Could a heat pad be used on wood terrariums? I have an enclosure made of plywood and the guy at the EBV said a heat pad couldnt be used because it would addhear to the bottom of the wood.

Anyways i wanted to get some second opinions because id rather use a heat pad than a light.

Shes three years old, about 4 feet long. The person i bought her from sold me her enclosure with a heat lamp/dimmer set up. Im having alot of trouble keeping the temperature at a constant level for her. Would a heating pad be more suitable for her? Even when the temperature is where it should be within the tank she still feels cold. Any suggestions would be most apprectiated.

thanks everyone

when using a proportional thermosat that only has 1 probe on a stack of cages or a rack system, where is the best place to put the probe, so that all the cage remain relative similar envirorment? I know there are a few things to concider, but say all the cages are the same and the thermostat is running flexwatt, would the middle cage be the best place to install the probe? I plan on getting a Ranco, or herpstat, when I add on, probably soon, and just curious what everyone does in this situation,

thanks,

In the market for a thermostat.

1) Do they work with undertank heaters besides flexwatt?
2) What, really, is the difference between using a Ranco or a Johnson compared to using a cheap little non-digital one. Besides it being digital, is there really any quality difference besides having to tweak it for a few days to get the temps right?
3) I have a stack of small plastic tanks that were meant to fit heat tape in a small slot towards the bottom back of the tank. The tanks are double-bottomed, but the narrow slot given to put heat tape in is seemingly impossible. The space is about 1/4 of an inch high and about 7 inches long. If I did manage to finagle a strip or two of tape in there, how would I push it up to stick to the underside of the tank in between the two bottoms?

I'm confused, please respond ASAP. I was looking to purchase online tonight.

Wondering if there was something else I could do?
