Default hunger strike

My striped albino Female that is 1 1/2 years old has been on a hunger strike?

She is approx 4 ft long and looks in really good shape, She has been eating one large rat every other week with no problems.

well as of 11/20 that was her last meal, I have tried the hide box trick, leaving her in the feed box for a long time with rat.
even tried to open her mouth and feed her.

the room is kept at 80 and the hot spot is 92 with humidity at 56%
litter box for a hide and 2 water bowls( large on hot side and medium on cool side)

Should I be worried, all the others are doing great.

thanks
Rod

I dont think you should be worried, the housing sounds great, maybe she just doesnt feel like eatting. I dont think a month is That long of a time for a boa to go without eatting (not a baby). But im sure someoen will get back that has had more experience with this situation. Good luck

Frankie my adult male has gone 2 1/2 months without eating...and not because I didn't offer it....I offered it every week, and he just wouldn't eat it...so I tried a smaller prey item and he ate it. She may just not want to eat something as big as you are offering, or just may not be hungry. When she is ready she will eat. That is what I had to do with Frankie is just wait on him to be ready to eat.

I'm not sure if others here with more experience would recommend doing this but with when my first Boa that I had for 12 years wouldn't eat I would put in 2 live pinkies . Since I raised him from a baby I would always feed dead. There were 2 or 3 times where hours later the dead rat would still be in the the tank so I would discard it, wait a day or so and put in a fresh rat with pinkies (young enough so that there would be no risk of injury to my snake) and he couldn't resist. He would go for the pinkies first and then take the adult rat. Maybe it's the natural motion of the babies or something else but that would always work. But I wouldn't be concerned over less than a month before doing the above I would probably wait a week or so. Good luck !
