Re: No luck searching....HELP...
Het. Hypo, Het. Anery,
x
Het. Anery, Homozygous Albino,
12.5% Het. Albino,
25% Het. Anery, Het. Albino,
12.5% Homozygous Anery, Het. Albino,
12.5% Het. Hypo, Het. Albino,
25% Het. Hypo, Het. Anery, Het. Albino,
12.5% Het. Hypo, Homozygous Anery, Het. Albino
*edit*
so in simpler terms...
3/8 het albino (66% chance of also being het for anery aka 'dh snow')
1/8 anery het albino aka 'anery het snow'
3/8 hypo het albino aka 'dh sunglow' (66% chance of also being het for anery aka 'th moonglow)
1/8 hypo anery het albino aka 'ghost het albino' aka 'ghost het moonglow'

well, i've been learning about that kind of thing for right around a year, but i've found the 'genetics wizard' to be very helpful, as well
How to use the "Genetics Wizard"
did you see what i added to that first response of mine?

Oh, yeah I just saw that, I like the possibilities...lol...I know for sure I'm getting an Albino het snow for the male. The female(s), are gonna be a dh snow, dh sunglow, and an anery het snow...idk what female I should get first, but I dont mind. I wont be breeding for about 2-3 more years...
Yeah, I've been playing with the 'Genetics Wizard' site for awhile now...Still learning the Dom/Co-Dom part of the genetics...
I appreciate all the help. Thats why I love this site.

Re: No luck searching....HELP...
Simply put, dominant means the trait is visual even if only ONE gene is inhereted from the parent. It's a 'visual het' (a recessive gene - albino or anery for example - need a gene from each parent to become visual, and thus, are NOT visual hets).
The hypo gene is a good example of a dominant gene (although some people would say it's codominant - but that's an entirely different debate ). If a boa is heterozygous for hypo, it will still be visually hypo. It only takes a hypo gene from ONE parent to become visual. Now if a boa recieves TWO dominant genes (one from each parent), it is then homozygous for that trait - more commonly called a 'super.' You can't tell if an animal is homozygous for a dominant trait by looking at it. In other words, the het form looks the same as the homo/super form. This is where codominant comes in...
Codominant is almost the same as dominant, except that the visual het is in some way identifiably different than the homo/super form. The motley trait is a great example of this. A (het) motley boa looks ENTIRELY different than a super motley (just do a google image search ). Jungle is another codom trait.

Re: No luck searching....HELP...
Ok, so what TWO males and TWO females would be a good idea?...Like I said, I want to make Albino hets, Snows(hopefully), Sunglows, Anery hets, Hypo hets....dh snows, ect ect...
For the males I was thinking.
1. Albino het Snow
2. Hypo het Albino(dh sunglow)
OR,
3.Anery het Snow
The Females.
1. Anery het snow
2. Ghost
OR,
3. Albino
4. Dh Ghost
I just want Albinos het, Anerys het, Sunglows, Snows, hypos, and Normals HET....By getting TWO Males and TWO Females.
Thanks guys. I should hopefully be purchasing these babys in March, which would be a Nice B-Day present to myself..LOL.

Re: No luck searching....HELP...
Well nothing is ever garuanteed in a litter but if you want the possible of those you named you best just go with tripple hets for both male and female.
aka,
ghost het albino
sunglow het anery
moonglow.
you get the point.

Yeah, I get it...LOL..but I'm not spending that much $$ off the back. I want to produce those morphs, not buy them..lol..I want to make a few morphs that I like, to keep and watch grow, and maybe make more of the morphs I want and like...
I'm pretty sure these are the ones I'm getting...
Males
1. Albino het Anery (het snow)
2. Albino
Females
1. Anery het Albino (het snow)
2. Hypo het Albino (dh sunglow)
OR
3. het Albino het Anery (dh snow)
That'll give me 3 possible litters, producing Snows, Sunglows, Albinos het, dh sunglows, dh snows, Anerys het...ect. ect.
Which I don't think is a bad set of Possible litters...lol....
