For some time Pinkie has had a bit of a pink tint to her skin. I understand red skin can be a bad sign so I've kept a close eye on her and the cage. I'm not sure what to make of it though. I just started feeding her a bigger meal. Tonight the rat stretched her skin just behind her head so I could see between her scales and her skin was pretty pink. I had decided before tonight that it was just part of her coloring but now I'm not sure. My humidity is generally a touch on the low side, like around 45% so I really don't think it's belly rot, plus her sides are also pink. I would take pictures but I really don't think you would be able to see anything. Everything about her seems fine so I'm just trying to be safe. Anyone have a snake with a lot of pink to it??

Some snakes are pink tinted... hypos (salmon line a lot, cherry), and just in general. A picture would help determine if your is just part of the coloring, plus scale rot usually would not be on the side (I've never seen it but its porbably possible) it would be hard to develop there since the snake doesn't lay sideways...

A lot of people here have pink tinted snake sides and bellies and bodies... they are common in hypos

Some boas when they mature can become quite pink on the sides. Mine got really really pink and redish. But it is normal.

My Bella is a BCI Normal and she's got some pink on her sides (very little, but its there). And she's not even a year old and she's started to develop some nice pink on her belly as well.

Eddie is my BCI DH Sunglow and he's got some considerable pink on him - especially around his tail. His vent is surrounded by bright pink skin... my wife jokes that he's got a baboon butt. The first time I took him to the vet she was alarmed by it until she realized it was just pigment.

It's very likely that your boa's just got very pink skin. It's not unheard of. Post some pics and we can better assess.

She should be fine....she will usually get more pink while digesting her food. Which in the wild is used to absorb more rays from the sun...

By the way what kind of boa is she...????
