i think maybe my snake is losing his scales POSSIBLY. i also wanted to no how long i should w8 to hold my snake after his feeding

With as many problems as you're having with this boa, I'd suggest you take it to a veterinarian for a check up to make sure its healthy. It sounds like you may need professional help.

It could cost up to $100, and yes, you want a reptile or exotics, or herp vet.
There are several links in this post that will help you find one in your area.
Also, I'd suggest finding a Herpetological Society in your area, and joining it, to get "hands on" advice and help with your boa.

Physically, no. But it will cause undo stress on him, and that can be harmful.

i just found out that the tap water i use to soak my boa and to drink from has a little bit of chlorine. is that bad?

I have a well so I don't have treated water, but I don't think it will do any harm, but many people do use bottled water for their snake's drinking water to be safe. I never really thought about it for bathing though.
The vet I know charges $80 for an exam plus any meds or tests needed. This is about standard for Northern VA and you'll find that prices often reflect the geographic area you're in.

good to know. so i think my snake is constipated, but even tho i soak him in warm water, he doesnt defect. should i keep soaking him until he does defect?
