the shirt was the FIRST thing i thought of when willie asked me to send him a picture! I JUST LOVE THOSE SHIRTS! i sent E an email with the link to be sure he got the chance to see his design in a national geo-frickin-graphic article!

thank you everyone for the encouragement! it was really exciting to open up that page when it was first posted and see my ugly mug and my quotes!
i really was impressed with how willie and david (the editor) went about this. david has been open to our side all along, and when he asked me if i wanted to be in an article he was having one of his writers come up with (willie) i was confident it would be fair and unbiased, so i gladly accepted. there were a couple of other people i suggested he interview who didn't end up working out, but i'm happy with the final selection and how it turned out.
there were just a couple of misprints, minor as they were...
my malaysian python is not that big... when i told him about her, i said she COULD get that big. he must have mis-heard me.
also, our biggest boa is over 6 ft, not 5.
like i said, just peripherals that aren't critical to the core of the article. no big deal.
the day before the article was published, i spoke with willie and he made sure the quotes he had down for me were accurate. i clarified one of them for him... the part about them being easy to keep. he originally didn't have that in it. i figured that'd be good to include after i said they "weren't for everyone." i didn't want people to think they weren't for everyone because they are hard to keep, because THEY'RE NOT.

they're not for everyone because not everyone likes them!
anyway, be sure to thank david braun and willie drye in the comments section below the article!
