I'll be there, and hopefully I'll take a boa home with me.

I'm going to be there. I was only planning on going on Saturday. This is my first show. Will there be anything different on Sunday worth staying for another day?

Re: Reptile Super Show @ Pomona Fairplex Jan 3 & 4
The main reasons for going Sunday are possible lower prices, if you're thinking over a purchase and want to sleep on it, or because you feel like wandering through a crowd of like minded people for a second day. I normally hit up the shows one day only because I seem to come away with less money if I go the second day.
I know that Dan Mulleary is going to be there, so if he has any salmontine girls left I may come home with one of those. And it's always fun to visit with Mike and Stephanie of Basically Boas, so Saturday is going to be a long day of wandering and chattering away while trying to not increase my zoo too much

I have never been to a show before. How do most venders accept payment? do they only deal in cash or do they accept credit cards?

Best to have cash, many do except cards. and some are starting to except paypal, they have there laptops right there which I wish everyone would do.
But better safe then sorry carry cash. There is usually an ATM around but in many cases you can't pull out enough in one transaction.

Re: Reptile Super Show @ Pomona Fairplex Jan 3 & 4
This was my first time at this show, which I understand wasn't in Pomona for a while. I went to the show yesterday, and man, was it PACKED!! I was the second person in line at the gate 9 entrance. The FairPlex Gestapo wouldn't let us in until "she got the call" which was at 10:06 am o.O. If you tried to enter from gate 9, and were a vendor, better have your vendor badge at the ready. A couple of vendors trying to get in to set up were denied entrance. Luckily they were able to get in touch with one of the guys running the show. I got to take a nice quick glance around the show until I needed food (diabetic)saw some AWESOME FROGS, and very nice pink and red salmon boas reasonably priced (it's that time of the year). I bet there are some sweet deals going on later today. On the way out I snagged a free ZooMed blue panther chameleon poster and some free ZooMed swag (stickers and samples). The hamburger stand outside the show's building sold $12 dollar hamburgers and $8 fries. They even had a sign that said, "feed a family of 4 for $47". I went to the car to snack on some fruit, soda and crackers.
Feeling much better, I headed back towards the hanger and my jaw dropped when I saw the ticket line, it was the length of the hanger! Once inside the show again, it was FULL of people. I can easily say it was the most populated show I've attended. I went back to a table in the corner and saw that the boa I had my eye on was still there, so I went ahead and bought her. She's a Columbian 2 year-old high pink, weird striped boa with tons of black flecks. She even changes color! In the morning-evening the color of her pattern is a faint grey, in the after noon (when she's warmer? haven't had her that long to tell what triggers it) it changes to light brown. I'm going to take pictures of her later today.
There was also a woman there selling bearded dragons and more unusual plush animals (octopi, anteaters, sloths, etc.). I snagged a bat for a friend and got to check out the radiant heat panels in depth at the Helix table. The Gieco gecko was even there. Had to leave the show early yesterday for work today (7 hour drive). Wish I could of checked out the tattoo show next door. Overall, a good time was had.

Re: Reptile Super Show @ Pomona Fairplex Jan 3 & 4
Yeah, I'm not exactly thrilled with the way that Pomona runs things. Just getting in to park was annoying and took far too long. Then the line to get into the show - wow. San Diego IMHO was done much better and it had more vendors.
That said, I picked up a couple more Iquitos red ventrimaculatus frogs from Ed's Fly Meat and an absolute steal in a killer little striped girl that I know BigPapaErnest is going to drool over once I post some pics. Supposedly she's an '07 but I think she's actually an '08 - still has a deep umbilical indent and she's a wee thing.
HyenaGirl, I think I know the one you picked up...from a booth in the center towards the back of the show by Reptile Depot's booth? I saw her all silvery too - and this was maybe 15 minutes after I picked up my girl. I was tempted to grab her as well, but I'm glad I didn't and that she got a good home with you!
