can brother and sister breed?

i am thinkin of getting another red tail from the litter mine that i have now is from but i want to get male and female and keep them together so the one i have now is not lonely. but i don't want to get another male for the fact that i heard two males will fight cuz of territory purposes. but if they do mate will the babies be fine or defective like deformed or double headed. i just want to make sure it will be alright to have the two together. i have been on this site now for a week or two now and found that all of u on this site are very helpful towards eachother and hope to get some good feedback from any and all of u if possible thanks.

Actually reptiles do not have the genetic problems with innerbreeding that mammals do...

While it is good practice to offer different bloodlines in your breeding stock, there is no harm in breeding related animals..

For example some of the best know morphs and patterns, could have ONLY been accomplished through selective breeding of pairings such as brother to sister, or a male offspring back to it's mother, etc

So a brother/sister pairing is common with reptiles.

I don't breed, But I have heard that snakes housed together are not as likely to breed.

I keep snakes housed together most of the year then I'll seperate the male and female for a couple of months before breeding season and then they end up breeding.. should have some baby dumerils this year..

I wish I could get a Dumeril. I think I shouldbe happy that my wife let me get another RTB this morning. that make 2 now. Not Enuff!

ok now i am not worried but happy now i can get another rtb boy are these snakes addictive or what!!! thank u clay and everyone else who gave input on this subject and i am sure u will see more of my questions as these get bigger and i run into what i think are problems but u may think not. i guess that is why clay started this forum for people to ask and learn. thanks clay for a great site i have learned more from this site than i have a book on rtb's that i had purchased. i will try to post pics of them as soon as i figure out how to down size the pics to get them to fit on here.

lol all the wifey problems im the one buying the snakes in my house. i just went one day bought the first one and they i said ok babe i done found me a new baby and wham i got dusty from clay. and if i could talk him into it id get another one or 2 or 3 heheh he loves our babies too just thinks we have too many babies!lmao the feed bill for 2 dogs 2 cats 2 horses 2 snakes and 2 fish is kinda outrageous!
