  • Ovulation?

Looks like it could be? Lots of scale separation.

Yes, it could be. You have fed recently?

      Re: Ovulation?

If you havent fed recently, it deffinitely could be an ovulation! Some girls swell considerably larger than normal girth and some not so much from what I've seen this year

8 days ago was last feeding and this seems to be spread out a little more than the food bump normally is. They have been together since early October.

That picture is not a really good picture of it. Could be a pre-ovulation swell.

It could possibly be, but I'd have to see her before and after pics without her tied up with the male.

                Re: Ovulation?

I believe she Is having a pre-ov swell . A pre-ov swell will spread out wide . An ovulation spreads out upward, like she Is trying to lift her body off of the floor. That section of her body is often stretched out , and the male will usually stay away from the female about 5 days prior to her ovulating.

Is there an average time between a pre ovulation swell and the actual ovulation?

                    Re: Ovulation?

A pre-ov swell means that the follicles are increasing in size and that the female is ready for courtship. It doesn't mean that she will ovulate. Males don't always perform as hoped , or they go into a shed at the wrong time . Their is also the ability for a female to retain sperm for periods of time and ovulate well after the male is no longer present . There is no set time between pre-ov swell , and ovulation. I've also witnessed full-blown multiple penetrations, and the females never ovulate . Boa breeding is a frustrating thing, at least for me .
