Long gestation

    Long gestation

    Woke up to my first litter of boas this morning. 13 live and jumping, and 5 slugs, all in all a healthy litter. Thing is, POS was on November 13. I had long written this girl off as not pregnant and just faking, she started eating as normal back at the beginning of April. But, boom, here we are. Over 200 days since POS and a pile goo.

    What causes a long gestation like this? Has anyone had one like this? Doesn't seem like the babies are worse for wear, they all look great!

    Congrats on the nice litter! I was going to welcome you to RTB, but I see you have been a member since January of 2014, so welcome to posting at RTB

    I would say that the POS was probably a normal shed rather than an actual POS. There is a chance that the sperm was retained by the female and the process actually took place later than expected.

    Either way, glad to hear you were successful in getting your first litter of baby boas! Now, don't forget, pictures are a must!

        I also agree . People make mistake signs that the Boa may be giving. I have . They are all different.

          pairing was an abby ghost (male) to a regular ghost (female). here are pictures of everyone all cleaned up.

            Are you talking about an Aby Line Ghost ? Because, I thought that I was the fist to produce Aby Line Ghosts --- last year. If so ,then where did you get your male from ?
