how do you decide what's too pricy and what isn't?
I mean... I saw many morphs that aren't "brand new" like Paradigms for instance that cost around 7.5K... why is this moonglow arabesque too expensive? Just because you're short on money or because the price-tag is too high for this morph?

Really am interested in how these things work.

If you really think about with all the genetics its not to much if its not sterile like a lot of moonglows are you could make the 8500 back in one litter if you pair it up with the right boa but i mean to drop 8.5k on snake that is alot dude my Jeep was only 5gs my 47" HD LCD was only 1200 lol you see what i'm saying
i dont know about anyone else on this site but i dont got 8500 just sitting around do you bro lol

i look at to much as what i can afford to spend even IF i had and extra 8500 sitting around i wouldnt spend it on a boa right now with HR2811 going on honestly until i start breeding boas and have my some income from them i cant see myself spending more then 1500 maybe 2000 on a boa and that would have to be one special boa

and i would like to hear other opinions on this question

Re: saw this on kingsnake and wanted to share

Personally I find moonglows/anery morphs to be a dead end... the thing I like most about Boas are the reds and oranges... if you strip those away well... your versatility becomes limited.

So Moonglows aren't exactly my forte... Anery, Arab and Albino are all common mutations too... and two of which are recessive, I can't remember if Arab is recessive too(I think it is but for the lights of me I can't recall right now).

8.5K$ is -alot- of money, but I suppose that these animals took a very long while to produce, and that's worth something... because if you get one, you're actually accelerating projects by whole generations.

I think the price tag is logical. It's simply an expensive "product"...

I still fantasize about being able to bring in T+ into the fold, be it Paradigms or the recessive versions of it. Or Jungle maybe...

Too many boas I want, too little time (and money)

That thing is very sweet, but not $8500 sweet!

Oren, it was more of a joke than anything else. He can ask whatever price he wants and the only price thats TOO high is the price that isn't paid.

If he can get it than more power to him. I just can't imagine spending $8500 on a Boa right now. The economy and our uncertain future with HR2811 combined with the fact that 8500 is just a lot of dough makes me think he's gonna sit on this boa for an awfully long time. Who knows though, maybe Big Daddy Deep Pockets will be surfing Kingsnake and he will hit the jackpot. Stranger things have happened.

I think you may be thinking of something else. I am almost positive that moonglows are not sterile. There is no super form of anything in there. I know snows are not sterile and I highly doubt adding the hypo gene to a snow will make it sterile. Be careful what you post especially if you have no backing on it.

As far as price goes Frank produces some very high quality animals and his prices usually reflect it. You have to look at this animal and the time it takes to produce it. This is a 4 gene morph. Not an easy task. 2 recesive and 2 dominant/codominant genes. Also there are only 2 of them in existence. I would agree that the price is pretty fair. That is one genetic power house.

I do know that Garick DeMeyer has produced from his male moonglow which was the first male moonglow ever produced. I also think that Frank produced these from his older male moonglow arabesque not completely sure on that one.

The way i look at it is probably the same way DirtyMike is looking at it. My look on it is this...IF he has the ONLY 2 in existence, i would think most breeders would hold on to them and try and produce more to capture the market for them...SO the way i see him pricing it at 8500 is with a mentality of "I want to keep BOTH....BUT if i sell one for 8500...then we do the happy dance!" It's a win win situation for him. It's just like any Morph that has come out of the woodwork where they say "I" have the ONLY ones...YOUR going to pay high dollar for them until OTHERS start to make them and then its time to lower the price!
