So my 10 year old asked me a couple questions and I honestly couldn't answer him, I am hoping that some of you can.

His Questions:
If a snake is het for snow is it actually het albino & het anery?

If a snake is het sunglow is it actually het albino & het salmon?

Yes, or show one trait and het for the other

Yes, though it may just be hypo as salmonis a hypo line

You cant have het hypo or het Salmon.. it either is a hypo or salmon or its not

All hypos are at least het hypo. Since it is a dominat trait most just drop the het no real heed to use it. But a hypo is in fact het unless it is a super hypo then it is homozygous.

technically het stands for heterozygous... so technically the answer is yes to both unless you had a super hypo... but the hypo/salmon trait only needs one of a pair to be a visible hypo/salmon... where as both anery and albino need two of a pair to match to be visible.

I think that 10 year old knows more than me. . . We are trying to learn it together.
