I've been out of the boa game for the past few years, so I'm still trying to play catch up in this ever evolving world..

I have the opportunity to pick up a female '09 Motley het for sharp. They are asking $1000 for her. I would love to pair her with a beautiful paradigm male. The catch is that she has NO Paperwork. Is she still worth that price tag? I feel it might a BIG risk.. What do you think she would be worth? Also, it is the Super Motleys that ended up with the shorter lifespan I believe right? So I don't think I would have to consider that. Any advice would be extremely helpful.

    Thanks,
    Steve

Seriously, unless I knew the breeder to be 100% reliable, I would not buy a het without paperwork and that price tag seems too high anyway. Better to save your money and buy from one of the names in the Biz.

Yes, you are right about the Super Motleys having the failure to thrive issues.

Welcome back to the world of Boas and to RTB in particular!

Thanks, its nice to be back!!

I do know she was produced by Al Brown with Brown's Boas. I think the price is a little steep myself but I am willing to pay for what I want as well. I cant seem to find much in the sharp line out there at all right now. Thought that might be a reason why. I've been looking for a nice big girl that is either sharp or het for sharp for awhile now.

This girl belongs to me, for what it's worth I saw a 2014 male for 500 figure $1000 considering it's a female with age is fair. Background can be proven as well.

And the catch-22 is that paperwork can be manufactured by anyone with the right equipment. Paperwork or no paperwork, it all boils down to how trustworthy the seller is.

What, no paperwork. ...... get the rope! LOL. Don't do it. I'm sorry but if I'm going to pay over a grand for a reptile. I need to know it's history just like carfax. I need paperwork, I want know everything from the time it's was born or if it was sick, how many litters produced, how many time it had vet visits etc etc . I need to know it all. That alot of money to risk, if you have doubts.

Ok, so we got it all worked out.

              So here is the story:

Dan Brown produced a litter in December of 2009. That litter was from a Orangetail Sharp Sunglow X Motley. The 2009 girl in question has been proved to be from that breeding and verified by Dan who I spoke to personally. I think Dan said he still has the father and Jeff Ron currently has the mother and, is apparently a 50lbs, 9.5' monster of a boa. Jeremiah said her background can be proven and he worked with me to prove her and her background. Jeremiah also gave a written guarantee of her genetics to prove or a full refund. Dan is going to send me a statement stating he verified her and did produce her. I am also documenting all of our correspondence as well.

With all this said I have no doubts about her at all. I know she has been very well taken care of.

I think its a shame how many nice animas with tons of potential get "lost" because someone either bought them without asking for paperwork, or simply lost the paperwork. Many times in my experience, the lineage can be proven with some research.

Thank You Jeremiah for working this out.

Exactly how I feel about the situation. Jeremiah took the time to prove her linage and answered all the questions I had. He never gave me reason not trust him. I know it wasn't exactly an easy sale either. I'd recommend him and hopefully will be doing more business with him in the future.
