                    Reumerils Ground Boa

                    Hey, thanks you guys!!
She is my pride and joy, and she is aproximatly 53" (and still growing). Let me tell you the story of how I got her....

About four years ago I went to an expo in Richmond, and my mind was totally set on a neonate Dumeril's. As soon as I stepped in, I began searching the tables. I frist came accross a sub adult male (gorgeous) but I was looking for a younger snake, so I resumed my search. I then stumbled across an otherwise very nice looking female neonate, but there was a problem. The irresponsable keeper that owned the snake, kept her in the same shoe box as a slightly smaller Guyuana Red tail. He explained to me that she had consumed her smaller cage mate. I was astounded! The little Dume was about to explode. I talked with some more experienced friends I made at the show; some said she could encounter some problems, some said she could handle it with some help. I took the gamble- I kept her in a dark enclosure with moist paper towels, and covered the glass up with towels for added comfort. Sure enough, a few weeks later she passed her unfortunate cage mate in two stools.

Since then she has given me no problems, she will eat anything I throw at her and is quite docile. Im going on vacation in a week, and I dont have any one to clean the cage for me so Ive halted feeding until after I return. Its hard not feeding this healthy snake. When I was younger I had a ball python that had some feeding issues. And I love it that now I have a snake that wont stop eating, so its hard to keep her waiting.
-sorry for the life story, and thanks for the comments!
