Perhaps the most exciting of Boa breeding seasons for The Boaphile lies within months of beginning to show its wonders. Many special projects that only a handful of others are pursuing, a couple that only one or two are after, and several that will only be attempted here this season and not by anyone else. I am very optimistic about this season and cannot wait to see the fruit of this past year and a half gear up for new and exciting things to come. Here are a few of the projects we are REALLY excited about jumping into with both feet!
- The Prodigy Boa Project:
Clay English dropped these on the world in 2007 using a female Colombian that he had obtained from me back in 2000. Here is the little litter that left Clay dumbstruck early that surprising morning down Texas way:

One of those babies at 28 months:

The Prodigy Boas are a simple recessive form of T-Positive that is completely unrelated to any of the other T-Positive lines out there. The bloodline that the mother of these babies came from, Clay obtained from me, and is actually one that I have been breeding here since about 1990. Who knows what combinations may be successful using these puppies?
The Key West Project:
Maybe we will be fortunate to stumble upon a few more of these Colombian Key West kiddies! I hope we are able to prove out that the Hypo version of these will retain their pattern as I predicted too:

The Tribal Boa Project:
Oh the Tribal Boa. I’ve had him for a bit over two years. He bred like a champ last year but the girl he bred did not kick over for me. Maybe this will be the year we will see if there are little Tribal Boas in our future.

Jungle Het Boawoman Hypo/Caramel T-Positive and Paradigm Projects:
This is but one of many Boas that will be making Boas for me in the Paradigm related project camp. We’ll have to wait and see…

??? Female what is it Boa Project?
I don’t know, but I know that I do how that whatever she is is genetic. She is a feisty girl and is pushing 7’ now. I just hope that the male I put in with her likes her as much or maybe even more than I do.

The Hypo Jungle Het Blood Project:
We were fortunate to make a litter using a Bloody Salmon female bred to a Jungle male. We have a number of unrelated animals to breed these with to make something special. Will there be Jungle Bloods in our future?

The Reddest Hypo I have ever seen Project:
I still have decided what to do with this guy. He just oozes red.

This one is still too young to breed Project:
I was graciously basically given this Boa by Denny and Cathy Rimes. I’m raising her up and we’ll have to wait to see what she might grace us with in a couple more years.

Reduced Pattern Bolivian Project:
Maybe we'll make some more reduced patterned exceptional Bolivians too. I have one of the best males and a number of unrelated females that he could potentially breed. Wish me luck with these critters.

Sharp Albino guys:
What's a guy to do with a Sharp Albino male that looks like this? OH the possibilities. Too many to list but I have a sneaking suspicion I have some pretty good ideas of what to try.

Or this? Ditto.

The Hhmmm... Project:
I know exactly what I am going to do with this girl.

Oh and this little unnamed project:
It just never seems to end does it?

The Roswell Project.
I hope we make a few of these critters too! I just love the contrast on these puppies. The trick is going to be picking the right animals to breed these with to bring out what makes these guys so incredibly beautiful.

The Pastel Albino/Sunglow Project: Maybe a couple more of these to boot. I can’t wait too see what little orange delights will come from some of the girls I have been raising for years for this season crop.

Today the process of deciding who to put in with who begins in earnest. This is a long and very difficult process that I really dread as I second guess myself over and over. I am open to suggestions… So long as it doesn’t involve sending animals away, I am wide open.
