My advice for someone wanting a Peru red tail is to go get one!

I hear a lot from people wanting one exact look or phase or even only wanting one specific animal.. nothing else will do. They have this image in their head of that one thing and only want that.. until of course they see something they like more.

More than most any boa there's not much chance of picking a small Peru boa and have it turn out exactly like you want.. We place a lot of importance on genetics (me too, at least from a locality angle) but genetics are only one part of how a boa turns out.. a lot of what makes a very pretty adult boa is what goes in to caring for it over many years. That's something you can't buy like you would 'het for this or that' it's what you have to give to the project.
