  • Not "Quite" Field Herping...

Well, technically I guess it is but it is actually a pasture. Anyway, here are the photos:

    size reference--my husband's size 10 1/2 shoe

I couldn't get any better pictures since she was not too happy with us being close to her and the zoom on my camera distorted the pic but I hope you enjoyed anyway!

        cool!

i had an incidental field-herping encounter the other day...

on my way to work i was a good little boy-scout and helped an eastern box turtle across the road.... isn't there a merit badge for that?

Oh come on, I KNOW you know what it is.....don't you?

Grey Rat Snake...it just so happened that she/he has a really nice motley pattern. I wish I could have gotten closer pictures because her/his pattern really was great. The problem was, she/he kept pretending to be a cobra! It was quite amusing.

It is considerably less amusing when your captive rat snake acts like a cobra everytime you try to clean his cage...Trust me on that.

Great pics! I almose never find wild snakes around here, even though we have a ton on gopher and garter snakes!

It's even less amusing when you have a little worm of a cornsnake that does it. No, wait, then it's wildly hilarious!

                          Thanks Chris!
