• FIRST Boa!

As some of you may know, I have recently set up my first AP plastics cage for the purpose of getting my new snake, a boa. I have had ball pythons before but now its time for a change.

I purchased a 2014 Hypo Jungle Female boa from zamora, and I am super excited to get her home when the cold weather subsides. I have acquired permission to use her photos that are found on her website, and the updated pics she messaged me

I knew that boas colored up when they aged, but I had not imagined they did so fast! She has a bit of speckling which I like, and which is how she earned the name "Pepper." I LOVE her eyes! As of right now I have no incentive for breeding, so she will just be a spoiled companion.

The pictures when she was a little worm

After her shed and feeding, so don't judge her weight! lol. When I saw these updated pictures I was stunned at how orange she was. I had never seen a color change so dramatic with my experience with ball pythons. I still can't believe how pink her head it, and her eyes are memorizing.

Overall, I am SUPER excited about her arrival. Also, I would like to give props to zamora for her customer service, its been a pleasure working with you. This is also my first purchase over the internet with reptiles, so delivery seem scary, we will just need some good heat packs and warmer weather!

    Thanks for looking everyone

She's a beauty! I almost picked her instead of her sister.

Do you happen to be the one who chose #13? She has a beautiful tail. I think mine takes after the dad's look more than the mom. However I can see how her moms tail really had an influence. Here are the parents according to the names (photo is not mine, it is owned by Zamora and found on her website)

Grats. Nice snake. You will be amazed by how much more inquisitive boas are then BPs. Both of my BCI girls love to come out almost daily for exercise where as my BP is happy to sit in her hides with just her head poking out.

Congratulations on your first boa. I think you will find them much more enjoyable to keep than beepers. Great looking hypo and yes those eyes are awesome. zamora is a great person and treat to have here at RTB.

I can't wait for you to meet her in person, I think you will appreciate her even more than in the photos. Actually, there is a funny story about her...her mother, Athena I got from a forum member that is now out of the hobby and he got her from another forum member that is still in the hobby so your "Pepper" is a true RTB family member!

I'm so glad that one of my babies is going to someone that is as enthusiastic and well prepared as you are. Thanks Elizabeth, let's pray for warmer weather soon!

P.S. Thanks Ben and Todd for the thumbs up, that means a lot to me.

                        Re: FIRST Boa!

Cool story Zamora, I hope to keep her for as long as she lives, I tend to grow attached to my snakes (everyone that doesn't know this hobby thinks I'm crazy).

As far as being prepared, I am under the belief my research on caging and so fourth should make me prepared. My main concern is her safe arrival and her acclimation to the new cage. Looks like we don't have anymore snow in the forecast, now for the increase in temps.

I got to uncover my 73' Mustang and drive it today for the first time in months (another hobby of mine). Happy to say it started right up like it always has and the short drive was a stress reliever for sure.

Thanks everyone for your comments and support.

Pandorasdad, still wondering if you were the one who purchased #13 lol!
