  • All This Rattlesnake Talk and Pics is Rubbing Off

I walked into the snake room an hour after feeding and Pandora was in this classic Rattlesnake Pose. You know how goofy these guys can pose sometimes, but I thought this one was kind of cool and strange.

I left the room to get the iPad to take pics and she had not budged. The closer I got for pics, the more she slid out of her "Rattlesnake" pose.

Actually rattlesnakes have much in common with other snakes. Besides strike coils, other snakes vibrate their tails too...they just don't have the 'sound equipment' to be heard unless they're in dry brush.

Nothin' I like better than a good sassy snake (with or without venom)!

I have a little CA motley boa that does this. And boy, does he mean it!
Was she waiting for food, or was she just angry?

Y'all don't know what you're missing if you've never encountered an angry ratsnake! Coiling, hissing, tail-buzzing ATTITUDE, LOL! (-but they do make great pets & most handle very well!)
And don't forget bull snakes & their 'cousins', pine snakes & gopher snakes...very impressive too, with some of the best hisses & tail-vibes ever. Many snakes need sass to survive.

She just ate an hour previously. And was in this pose when I walked in the room. I don't think she was being aggressive towards me because when I got close to take photos, she slowly slid down out of the pose/stance.
