Welcome and congrats on the boa. Don't be shy about asking questions here. We have all started at some point. That Guide you printed is a great care sheet.

Thanks! I've handled em a while and had a blood Python a while ago, but I've always wanted a red tail. Hope to have her a while! I haven't seen any poop in her cage I see some white dots on the substrate that I'm guessing is urates, and from what I've read while they're still on pinkies it's normal for them to poop very little or not at all. Is this correct?

SO, I finally broke down and made a new photobucket account bc I forgot my login to my old one .............here'e some better pics of Princess Leia!! I know I may be a little partial but I think I have the prettiest gal on here!!

Her hanging out on top of her monkey head! She loves this thing, won't be long and she'll outgrow it though and I'll need a much bigger house for her to sleep in ha

My son holding her! He used to not even want to be near her but now he wants to get her out every day ha

This was the first night I got her a little over a month ago, she's grown alot since then!

I'm a little slow on the uptake but I just noticed you are in one of the northernmost counties in the state and I'm in one of the southernmost counties in the state. Howdy neighbor! LOL

              Love your little girl.

Thanks zamora! And what's your take, BCC or BCI? I was told it was a columbian BCC with het in it but i have my doubts.........the more I research I'm thinking BCI. But it can still be normal colored and carry het in it right? Is there any way to know for sure?

I don't know much about genes so I don't know if it is het or not. I am almost 100% certain that is a common red tail boa. Colombian BCI. It doesn't have the features normally found in BCC.

                    1. Normal BCI
                    2. It can look normal and still have a hidden gene or 'het' but unless you got it from a really reputable breeder, I sincerely doubt she has any hets.
                    3. Breeding is the only way to know for sure if there are any hidden genes.

If it's been a while since you had a boa, may I suggest downloading and reading the Ultimate Care Guide? It has a wealth of information about boas and could answer any questions you might have about boa care.
