  • Big Beautiful Boy.

Three years ago today this beauty arrived at my doorstep.

Back then he was a small little guy and a few months shy of a year old.

Today he is over six feet long, muscular, lean and coming up on his 4th B-Day at the end of June.

This is a true, Colombian, locality (Barranquilla BCI) that was produced by none other than Gus Rentfro.

I bought him from Orlando and Joel of LEGACY REPTILES. They were excellent to work with.

These are my first I-Phone pictures of him outdoors in 2016. Enjoy.

He is a nice sized male and looks bigger in person all stretched out.

He has only eaten twice since we hit 2016. I had him fast for the winter months and had his temps dropped.

He is not fresh out of shed, but his tail looks nice in the sunlight for a BCI.

Without any female boas around giving off pheromonal cues, a male boa can attain a decent size. I'm not a breeder and have no plans to pair this guy with a female. I wanted an active, large but easy to maintain snake.

This guy fits the bill and is the favorite in my small collection.

    Thanks for looking!

Nice pictures! Also I'm glad I'm not the only slacker who still has Christmas lights up.

        Ha!

We have the purple/blue lights and decided they look cool for the summer parties on the deck.

I personally want something a little more classy and clean looking instead of wires on the deck rails.

But you are correct,,, "slacker" is a title I'll take this spring LOL!

I can certainly see why he's your favorite, what's not to love? I keep kicking myself for not buying from Gus when he was still in business.

Thanks so much for the updated photos, feel free to share this gorgeous hunk anytime.

              Thanks for the kind words.

Just FYI. Legacy Reptiles has these boas from Rentfro stock and I think they are honest to his breeding techniques.

I should have probably posted this photo as well because his tail looks better here.
