thanks!! Barracuda! Hes doing good . He was really skinny when I got him. The guy was feeding him two mice every 3 weeks. Hes now on a steady diet of one large rat a week. Hes getting some real good size on him now. Hes a great snake.

Good job! Very good looking snake. I too took in a boa, almost the same size, as a rescue. Do you want to hear the funny part now? The guy I rescued him from used to be the "Reptile Specialist" at a pet store!!! ??? :-/ Needless to say, he got fired about a month ago! It's good to see someone step in to give a snake the life it deserves. Keep up the good work man!!

;D ;D Thanks guys!! I really appreciate it. I don't think people understand..well some people(obviously not us!!) that owning a big snake is allot of work and practically a life long commitment. Its not right for an animal to suffer for someone elses short comings..Thanks again everyone..

Re: Some pics of my columbian BIG MITCH!!

                          HI,
Thanks for the picture he looks healthy, Good job saving another animal from sure health problems with the previous owner.
I was in a local pet store and they had a shippment of around 100 BP"S and I saw one leaving in 10 gal with a heat light and screen , and I though geeze i hope he makes it :P.
I don't think its difficult to keep snakes it just requires adequate temps and humidty and feeding on a schedual.
I spend more time on my fish tanks..
Like most animals for some reason new reptile owners try and go with the most economical cage ( not usally adequate) and then become very flustered by the general failure of the animal to live and feed.
Yet I see people spend 1,000's of dollars on special lights , filters , heaters, protien skimmers for their salt water fish..
Maybe we should recruit more fish keepers.. ;D

                            Hey Doug,

If it helps any, I am an avid fish hobbyist! I have 4 tanks right now, all different types, and I'm in the process of setting up a 125 gallon salt water reef tank! It's true, these fish tanks are by no means cheap, but with that said, I also don't spare any expense at the health and well-being of my snakes! I do what it takes to have their environment set just right! Like you said, I wish people would know how to have the proper set up for their snakes so that they can live a long and healthy life!
