My big girl

Hi all,

This one section I look at everyday. Just figured I would snap a few of my girl and post her here.. I fell in love with this girl the min I seen her. She was so different from most red tails, I just had to get her. I am not sure what type of boa she is. Its hard to guess since she has super rosy cheeks, 23 saddles down her back, and the last 5 inches of her tail is shiny jet black, and last she has rainbow reflections all over her body.. Want to take a guess what local and type of boa she is.. She is so puppy like, I open the cage, put my arm in and she climbs right up to my sholders and hangs out till I put her back. Gotta love that in a pet..

8)Wow Steve, love the color of that boa, man oh man .. i have this thing about dark saddles.. and that tail. wow i have seen few black tailed boas.. nice pics..As for what type boa she is maybe Clay or Lori can tell yaz.. The color and the markings on her are just beautiful.... Nice, Nice, Nice...

Nice boa I was wondering what she likes to eat, she seems a little thin ... Maybe a lrage thawed rat in the near future. If she's been eating live in her past droop a stool at the vets for a quick check.
SHe's found a good home ;D..

Hi Doug,

She eats two fresh killed large rats every 10 - 14 days. It may look like she is thin, but trust me she is not at all. She is solid bodied and no ribs or spin showing or can be felt. I think she is just a different type of Boa. Not the typical red-tail. If I thought for a min she was thin I would up her feedings. I have 12 tanks of Rats in my basement and 30 tanks or mice, not to mention the gerbils and hampsters. She can have as much as she wants. Normally she eats 2 med to large rats, sometimes 3, but mostly 2. Also I checked the stool the first time she went after I got her.. She is clean, no problems at all.. Thanks for your concern though...

Hi Barracuda_41,

Actually I have yet to probe her. The last two times I was going doing some probing she was in shed and just ate. Just been calling her a girl, but I am not 100%.. I should be able to do it at the end of the week. She is done with shedding and she was fed last night. So Friday should be safe..
