Two of my cuties...

This is my daughter, Pamella, she is 7 years old and a herp enthusiast no doubt. She wanted to get the feel of just how heavy the larger boa are. So we set her up with Desiree, one of our larger ones here. Desiree is appx. 8' and weighs 45lbs.



Kids and herps together..What a wonderful sight huh ?

Nice... I like kid and snakes.... The first time I held a snake was at a school visit from a reptile breeder.... I was the last kid in line to get to hold a snake... Then he pulled out a big burm... The first snake I held was a burm... Well to me it was big... but it was really probley like 5'. I was in second grade... The next day I was out by the river where the grass grows tall and catching garter snakes....

what a lil cutieeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee, shes def. not afraid is she! aweful strong too 45 lbs is a lot of weight for a kiddo! the snake is a beautie too. :O)

This one afraid?? NAW..LOL She's definately a herper started young hehe. She has even been able to handle some of the snakes we have had here that adults couldn't even think of getting near at all. Like a black pine that just wanted to..and succeeded in striking/biting us adults.. BUT she could not only get into the cage ..she could also handle the dang snake np too. : That snake now resides with snakepool in Texas.. which also has been nothing but a peach for him from what he has told me. Go figure.... ???

LOL That's in the next pic that I got of her holding Desiree...She had decided that she wnated to cruise upwards to Pammy's left.. and Pammy had no choice in the matter at all..haha We had to take the snake away from her at that point.

Nicw looking boa, pic would be good to show all the uninformed people I meet that large boids do not attack and kill children. Hopefully with people like you out there this stigma will eventually dissapear.

I have a TON of this type of pic , when ya put it like that   We have 7 kids here.. from age 5 through 15. ALL of them are herpers. What else ya expect from kids that spend the brunt of their life around us adults ?? hehe Unlike the majority of kids, and adults , that grow up with this sort of "fear/misinformation" being "driven" into their minds...Our kids have an accurate level of "fear/respect" that goes hand in hand with herps. ie.. They are EDUCATED and have knowledge that is TRUE..Not someone else's stigmas in relation to herps. ONLY way to go ya know !  ;D

This is Pammy when she was younger..5 I think [ two years or so ago] at a friend's home. She can't keep her hands off of snakes no matter where she is..LOL. She is definately my snake herper no doubt !  ;D No red to yellow in this one hehe.. If ya look to the top right back of the pic..you'll see the edge of a pond there....Where my friend's 6' Ally resides, when he is not free roaming around that room that is. Pammy even has a "hold" on that herp and can pet him np.. The dang gator hates me though lol.



Here's one of the kids with HUGE snakes/Burms.. They are AMAZON and MONTY. This was at a herp picnic we attended last year and brought along some of our herps. My kids actually had a great time educating some of the other kids [ and adults ..UGH] in regards to the Pythons we had..especially the burms. The girl is my niece Brittany...the other two kids/boys were some of the members kids. Of course the adults kept their distance from my HUGE snakes while we were there LMAO.

OOps.. forgot one of the boys..ANDREW. This is him a couple years ago with one of his snakes.. Spotted/childrens Python..



The other boy , Paul, I need to grab pics of him with herps still.. He is not that big into herps like the others.. Never seems to be handling one when i have the digi out at all..

Those are some nice looking snakes you got (at least the pics that worked) and kids! It is good to here that you have properly educated kids about reptiles. Oh ya in one of your captions you said there was a gator (pic didnt work for me), are they legal down there? Most you can own up here are the small caimans or moderate sized monitors! Friend use to have a caiman living in his pond too, or at least some were in his back yard if you could find it lol! ;D It was amusing to watch the neigbors stay at least five feet from the fence at all times lmao b25.gif

NOPE, They are NOT legal here [ ALLY's that is] without a permit to keep them. My friend has the permit for them..so for him YES it is legal to be keeping ALLY's here. ;D

The pic is fixed now.. I fixed the link. it is the one that she is holding a milk snake. NOPE ya can't see the ALLY in the pic at all. here's his pic though...

WOW Lori! Your kids are the next generation of the "Crocodile Hunter" like Steve Irwin. Maybe someday they'll have thier own t.v. show :, and you guys can retire and just lounge around with Herps all day ;DLOL
