a male will get over 6 feet a female will get bigger its PROBALLY not a good ideal to buy from a pet store there is this place the i got my babie from for $100.00 with shipping good place to buy from. i have my babie in a 55 gallon so that will work for a really long time. if you want to buy from that place just let me know and ill give you information.

diablo i didnt think the pet shop would be the best place but that was my first choice. ill probly end up buying one online.

he will get you pics and i posted a pic of the one i got from him under boa constrictor pictures you can look there too get an ideal what they look like.

they are captive born and bred from a 6th generation or so.

yea i looked at theat place and they dont have any red tails but try talkin to robert hes a good guy and a good place to buy from i would tell you that Clay's yearlings are good to buy from but his prices are really high and he sales them depending on the coler Robert dosnt he gave me the best looking male he had for the same price as the others. not dissing you Clay just telling it like it is.

yea and i was going to buy that one for $125.00 from Clay and he never got back to me and its been along time so thats one reason im little mad bout buying from him..and that reptilecity dosnt look like a great place to buy from they say to Keep the tank between 82 and 95 during the day and 72 to 80 at night. and to use a heat rock wich is told NEVER to use.and they dont say if their captive born.. ;D

and Clay if you see this well im not tryin to be a jerk to you or anything its just i was going to buy that one for 125 but you NeVeR got back to me and i emaild you like 3 times but i got a baby lot better lookin too.. ;D

diablo, just to set a few things straight..

I spent a lot of time with you concerning the boa in question. For 125 shipped the boa actually was priced at 95.00. A yearling at that from Jeff Ronne stock... Proven eater, proven sexed and 100% bug free.... I even lowered the price for you.

We were in chat together for over 30 minutes, and also spoke on the phone for 30 minutes or so.. You told me in chat and on the phone that you were 13 years old.. I cannot prove this but it is what you said.

I don't know how I could have been any more descriptive or helpful with that situation. I answered every question you had. I might not have responded to posts or questions that were redundant and I felt like I have already answered them. You even set up plans with me on payments for the boa, and or payoff of the boa. Yet you never got back to me on either of those issues.

And I simply do not comment on other peoples boas. You asked me several times about purchasing someone else boas that I had never heard of, and I simply could not help you there.

So even with your right to publically complain, you should lay out all the facts.. At a young age, it would be a good time to learn to tell both sides of any story so the people you are talking too can make the educated decision based on the issues and not feelings.

A 13 year old should not be buying a BCI! A corn snake or something small and easy to deal with. A 13 year old does not know where they are going to be in the long term. If a kid is going to get a snake it ought to be purchased by his parents for the kid! At least that way it is known that the child is not buying it with his babysitting money and stashing it in the closet without his parents knowing about it. I am not in the pet trade but I am a business manager so understand that we all have to make money to stay in business. What I dont understand is how breeders and dealers in the pet industry can sell to children who more than likely will let that animal go to waste as they move on to other things as the grow on to bigger and better things.

Na this guy was was 17.. well is 17.. Then you see that post clay erased well he kinda went off on clay and well you see what that got him... I personlly don't belive that clay negleted to sell this snake to this guy.. I bet he just called and then didn't send payment.......

It was definately being purchased by his dad. By the way.. No formal agreement was ever made concerning the boa... I get tons of emails of people wanting or promising to get boas, but the truth is very few follow through, and I understand this is the nature of the hobby... Some people buy and some people shop.. Nothing wrong with that..

Anyway, Here is one of the emails to me from diablo.

hey well my dad is going to call me today around 7-9 so i'll get back to you tonight and tell you if im going to get him (hope so he is so cute) well if my dad can afford it right now (couse he just bought a new house) most likely i will pay payments probally like a month to pay him off but i hope i dont have to pay payments but i'll let you know,.,..

My purchases are covered by requiring paypal authorization so hopefully an adult will be involved in every purchase...

Again so much information is missing from this equasion that many people will jump to conclusions..

btw, stormyva. I am not offended. I don't think you understand how much information is missing from this scenario, but I understand your feelings perfectly.

However, here are three possible scenarios...

One a very young person walks in a pet store with cash. And regardless of his knowledge the sale will be made and off he goes..

Two, a very young person learns a ton of care information here, and the right and wrong ways of keeping boas, and through permission and/or funds from parents buys a red tail from me or another breeder..

Three, I sell to a 79 year old person on the internet and he gets it and takes it to his very young grandson/grandaughter..

I just think the best scenario would be getting one from a place where they have gained some knowledge... I certainly cannot control the end result/owner of any boa I sell.

My children have been around boas now since they were 8 and 10 years old respectively... and they were and are completely competent in their handling and care... SUPERVISED yes, but competent...
