Bask Light

I know boas need 12hrs light 12 of darkness,but i was wondering is bask light is even needed if the hot side provided by unheater is at 89 day 80 at night.I ask because seems my stays on unheat pad hide box in day,and cool side at night,(if he's not exploring )
But rarly ever goes a sits in the 90 basking spot.

Hi Corey,

No a boa doesn't need a basking area as long at the temps are right. Boas are most active after dark. Althought A lot of mine sure the tank any time.

He could be hiding from the heat. Ideal temps for a boa would be 83 on the cool side and 90 on the hot side. I keep my tanks close to those temps day and night..
