      Re:Coconut shell

The crushed coconut shell substrate is a good one, although I have only used it inside my house for a pet boa. I do not use it in the snake shop.. It is pretty expensive.

But is looks great and the boa seems to love it.

            Re:Coconut shell

it is good stuff and i used it in my ball pythons cage for a few months, but like clay already stated it is not cheap and i found that aspen and cypress mulch was just more suited for my animals needs.

[/quote]is that mulch eazy to get ? or do you have to order it online ? only thing the pet shops around here carry is zoo-med reptile bark and a lizzard bark i think its t-rex.

                Re:Coconut shell

you can buy cypress mulch at any garden center and i think even home depot carries it. a pet store by me carries it and it has already been heat treated. if you buy it from a garden center you will have to bake it to kill off any little pests that may be living in it. cypress is cheap to buy and is great for humidity. i now use it in all but one of my cages.
