Sexing Boas

Could someone please help me out with that?I was told only males have those little spurs on them.Is that right?I ask because i brought 01 RTB online and she was said to be female,but i happened to look under her and "she"has them too??
So what's the deal both male & female have them?If so how do i go about getting the correct sex?

Well depending on who you bought your snake from>>>> You can trust alot of people... So who did you buy it from... First off...
Second the females have them two... The males are more pronounced but from what I have seen most if not all females have at least tiny lil' one.s..
And if you need to find out get the snake probed... A trained vet can do it but make sure the person that does it knows what they are doing.... They can mess up and cause damadge.....

I agree with what Red said.. Now looking at the spur size can give you an idea as to sex of the boa, but it is not 100%.. I have had females with big spurs and males with small spurs. The only way to be 100% is to have them probed by someone who knows what they are doing. Even popping babies is not 100%. I learned that the hard way.. Figured out that popping babies is only 100% if you can tell its a male. Females can be males who had good control of their muscles..

what i would do is let a herp vet sex it.. if you buy it online or something like that and want to get it checked up..that would be the best time to do it..but myself i would have no clue or wouldnt even try it..ill leave it to da pro's lol

Hey GL,

Probing really isn't hard are all.. Just have to make sure to control the snake and be gental.. Too hard or the wrong size probe and you could punchture the snake.. Before I did my own, I had someone who has done 100's of snakes show me how..

Best way to learn is not by someone explaining it to you, but if they are there and talking you through it.. First time is always a Pain.. But gets alot easier..
