Well it works but I have herd of people geting it with bugs in it.... I think if you order it from the company then do it but from a pet stores I don't know about...

I use ether new's paper or aspen both cheap and easy..

i used to use repti bark until i found little pests crawling around in it. now i use cypress mulch in all my cages. its cheap and keeps the humidity at perfect levels.

i buy my cypress mulch from a pet store in town here. it is already heat treated for parasites. you can buy cypress mulch at any garden center however i would advise heat treating it just in case. you could also try LLL reptiles site on the internet to see what substrate they have. i have purchased many products from them and they are very reputable.

When I fist got my snakes I used that indoor outdoor carpet.
Then I changed to news paper with some kitty litter under it (This is what clay was using when I first joined this site.)
Then I changed to aspen... Stayed useing aspen for awile then tryed some coconut bark.. This stuff works ok but clogs my crap vac. - coined by the boaphile..
So back to aspen.. Then just recently I have became a paper delivery guy and now I am using hole news papers in my cages... Just open it up and done... Never sokes all the way through...
Well what I am getting at is that you should try what is out there and find out for your self... What you like... If there is one thing I have found out since I have been on the forum is opions are like butt holes, every one has one, and every one thinks every other one sticks...... Get one for your self... This is the best way... Just don't use pine, cedar, alfalfa, or That corn cob stuff... Not an opion...

i got some Alfa Pet or AlfaPet aspen bedding has anyone heard of this?will it work good?

Alfa Pet is probably just another name brand. Anyways, newspaper or paper towels is by far the best, but they are not visually appealing. Cypress Mulch holds humdity great, is very cheap, and is natual with an appealing look. I use this myself. Cypress Mulch should be available at any hardware or garden store. Aspen bedding is kind of appealing, but to me it's a bit to messy. I used to use this myself for awhile. You should be able to find it at a store like Walmart that has a little deparment with fish and small mammal items. Astro turf (outdoor or indoor carpet) is also appealing but must be removed as soon as it is soiled. I used to use Repti Bark, didn't have a problem with any bugs, but man is it dusty.
