i have another question my baby red tail how long before the shedding process takes place i have had him for about 3 weeks he seems to be getting darker but my girlfriend dont think so please and thank u

A sure sign is when it's eyes go blue and the bottom of the snake is kinda hazy look'in...
It depends on how old your boa is and how hot it is in the cage and how long it stayed in the hot area and the humidity.. So you can figure it out right.. haha
Well you can not time it but babes once a month and adults a couple times a year...

Yeah, the best visable way to tell when your snake is in shed, is when the eyes turn to a cloudy blue color. The skin will eventually become dull and wrinkly.Comment
