Don't think so..Long as ya wait till the glue is no longer hot to let the snake near it at all..hehe. We've glued some plants on walls of caging here with no problems at all in the past.

        I'll third that.
I attempted to use hot glue to hold a dowel rod for use as a perch for my Irian Jaya Carpet Python.... the glue didnt hold all that well but the snake is still fine. The moral of the story... dont use hot glue to use anything "structural" as it seems that the heat in the cages does not allow it to hold it's bond well. For small cage decorations and items like you described it should be great though.

There are a lot of products that cannot hold up to the heat and humidity.

There is the pure clear 100% silicone, that does seem to work well. If it is allowed to thoroughly dry and air out, it does last a long time in that environment.

It does have a strong odor until completely dry, so it does require a longer cure time.
