For a long time our red tail boa Lazurus wouldn't eat. We brought him into the vet, and there was nothing wrong with him, he was just being picky. He normally ate thawed pinkies, but now wouldn't eat anything. Live, frozen, or prekilled. So what we did, was to heat up a cup of chicken broth, and place the pinkie in that to thaw. it worked, he eats every time now. Our other snake, Jackle a red rat snake stopped eating thawed mice, he just simply didn't want them. So here is what we do, and it can work with boa's as well. Please if you don't have the stomach for it don't read on heheh. First pick up a pet mouse, you may want to wear a thin glove, because they do bite. Thwap it on a hard surface to confuse it, then take a pen, and place it horazantaly (sp) on it's shoulder blade. Hold the tail, and yank hard. The mouse dies, but it's nervous system still works, so it kicks it's legs for a bit. This was is easy because you don't have to worry about the dangers of feeding live mice. That, and the snake still thinks it's alive when you feed it to him-her.
