Hey welcome to the forum, the simple answer is that no you shoud not house 2 snakes in one tank other than for breeding them. You should download the care manual and reference that subject further. There is a huge write up about that exact question. Basically what that means when referring to the genetics of your snake is that they are not good boas and you should just let me take them off your hands before you have to deal with them. Actully I'm kidding, they are great and I'm sure you already know that by seeingthem. WOrk on you camera and get pics up soon, we'll all be dying to see them.
Also back to the tank, as a temporary cheap solution you can go buy a steralite container and house one in there. It'll be good for a while if you buy large enough then you can save for boaphiles!! Just mak sure it's heated with a UTH and a T-stat. Remember the PICS!

hey! welcome to RTB... you will definitely find alot of great info here, especially from the care sheet, but also from the members.

as for your question, for the most part, boas are solitary creatures. they do not live together in the wild, and should not in captivity, either.

the ONLY exception is when they are newly born. many breeders will keep them in small groups for a few months at most, but that's really the only time it's acceptable. boas can get stressed out if left together for extended periods, which can lead to all kinds of bad things.

one thing you COULD do is divide the cage in half, essentially creating two cages in one. lowes and homedepot have plexiglass you can get cut to whatever size you need. this option may require two separate heating systems, depending on how you set it up.

but the gist of all that is: boas need to be kept separately.

          again, though, welcome!

          *edit* one more exception: BREEDING!

Those boas cause cancer and seriously accelerated tooth decay in mammals living near them, you should just send it to me to be safe and that will also fix the separate enclosure problem. LOL just kidding, they both sound like really nice snakes, congrats and welcome.

Hey I'm kinda new at all of this. But, from what I understand... Yes, your tank is big enough for both your boas. I'm not sure if the one comment was accurate about not housing your boas together. Red tails are very sociable with their own kind. I know breeders who house their females together before pairing them with a male. Some will pair one male with both females. Or vise versa. Also, you never said if they have been sexed or not. Are they two females, or males, or are they male and female?

Check out this sight it's loaded with information. The Boa Store.

I hope this helps. And I hope I didn't upset anyone.

Housing two boas in the same emclosure is not a good idea. One of the many bad thing that can happen is that one could accidentally bide and/or contrict the other in a feeding response. Plus, as pointed out by dangles, they are solitary by nature.

All the more reason to keep them separated until you have an intentional breeding in mind. If they breed when they are able, but not fully mature, the female can have a lot of problems with the pregnancy and especially birth. Even if she is of correct size and age, she needs to have a sufficient body condition to handle the energy toll this will take on her and that takes some preparation ahead of time.
