Well generally speaking the famales are bigger than the males.

It is true that males can get huge. It is generally the result of overfeeding or powerfeeding.
Females are just naturally bigger, especially in girth. This extra girth and weight are preparations for breeding.
I believe that males and females on a standard feeding schedule and each fed the same amount will still result in a female that will be larger in girth and a little longer.
From a breeding standpoint you do not ever want your male to be as large as the female.To gain knowledge is good, but to share knowledge is wise
