This past week there is a heat wave in southern california and temp in my room where I keep my boa is 92 so I've had the hot spot undertank heater turned off during this time. I wonder if the ambient temp is 92, will this have harmful effects? So far she's fine. The only difference I've seen is that she's not as active like before.

Re: Heat wave concerns
I agree 92 is too hot for your BCI. what are the night time temps? how long does it stay 92 degrees in the day? does your BCI (is it a BCI, or other type of boa?) have a water dish large enough to soak in? if not I would get it one pronto. if it gets too hot again, he will most likely hang out in the water until he cools down. At the very least make sure he has clean cool water to drink every day. he needs to be able to thermoregulate somehow, the water won't fix the situation permanently, but it'll help. -Juggalo

Re: Heat wave concerns
AIR CIRCULATION!!!
92 is not an extreme temp for boa constrictors but in an enclosed cage with no air circulation, it can be a problem.
Use a fan to cycle and circulate air in and around the enclosure.
This will help a lot.To gain knowledge is good, but to share knowledge is wise
