    I am building my boa a new cage and I was just wondering if latex paint would be harmful to my boa

    Ha josh I don't know if latex paint would be good or not but there is this guy on the site that painted his cage's I think his name is lukeUK or luckUK.. well if you instant message him you could probley get the answer faster...

      Hi josh, I have painted cages before, I haven't seen any negative affects on any of my animals(snakes or lizards) as long as it doesn't chip or peel. Use a good outdoor paint and I conered it with a coat of clear enamel. If you like th e wood look then just the enamel would do. I wouldn't use thompsons waterseal or something like that because I think it penetrates and am not sure if it really dries. I found it better than the alternative of replacing all the wood in the enclosure when it got mildewed and stained. I have a pic if my newest tank in the pic section(new enclosure). I used clear enamel not paint. Make sure the area is well ventillated for you and your snake and of course dont put them in it until it is totally dry.
