  • [Record Keeping] colombian red tail

I got him in may of this year. Hes about 2 ft now. He sheds about every other month. I feed him weekly but my dumbass bought him from petco. I feed him the second smallest rat started that about a month ago. If yall need more pics or info to help me with the age of him let me know. I just wanna figure out his **** age. Thanks

There really is no way to tell for sure without knowing, but by going by your description, I would say that its about a year or two old. Pictures would definitely help.

Boas grow at completely different rates so there is no knowing the actual age of them. They are born a little over a foot long and tend to grow 1-2 ft a year depending on factors like gender, feeding schedule, prey size, etc. You could probably be safe guessing about a year or so though.

I don't think any Petco stores keep animals over the age or two years old. Also Petco feeding schedule for the pets is a bit weird. They don't feed like we do, they feed less, to keep there animals small or smaller prey I should say..

He was about a foot when I got him and they still fed him pinkies. I gave him fuzzies right away bc he was capable. Hes a male and I feed him weekly about the middle of the week and every time I can feed him bigger the size goes up. Next pet I wont go to a store and I'll get from a breeder so all that will be a lot easier

Another thing to consider -- Just about every litter that I have produced will have a variety of baby Boa sizes . One single litter can often consist of babies from 12", up to2 ft. Age can not be determined by its size, unless the umbilical is still attached. .

Well. He'll just be however old from how long I've had him. The reciept has the date I got him as well as the date they got him but I doubt they know how old he is. Ive never heard ofan age limit before selling. But if so please tell even though itll make it harder lol
