So there's a wealth of information out there for BCI and BCC boas, but very little that's specific to the other subspecies. Too often I keep finding information about the general sizes found in Boa constrictor but not the subspecies, which look like they can vary widely. I wasn't sure which forum to place this post in, so I did my best.
I'm becoming interested in boas after almost a decade of mostly laid-back reptile keeping, but if I do get them I'd probably rather get a pair from an uncommon subspecies or locality given that morph projects aren't usually of interest to me but preserving rare species is. Someone in my state might have a little of B.c. occidentalis this summer but I also really love the look of B.c. longicauda. So my question is this...where do the average sizes fall for these guys? What is their temperament like? Do they make as good of pets as BCIs and BCCs do?
