[Misc] microchipping

Good morning!
I am not new to boas. But I am new to young boas. All of my boas are microchipped. I got both of my boas at 2 years old or older. How old should the new addition be before I take her in for chipping?

Personally I'd wait until at least 2 years of age, as they are stronger then, just in case of any infection with the procedure and just because the process also exposes them to more 'stuff'.
But that is just my opinion...I'm no expert on chipping.

Sorry to bomb this thread. What kind of micro chipping do you have done? Is it the same they do for dogs that's just RFID? Do you have a website that I can visit to maybe read about this?

I use the AVID chips. There is not a standard place to chip in snakes as there is in dogs. I have mine chipped near the tail.
