“Americanism means the virtues of courage, honor, justice, truth, sincerity, and hardihood – the virtues that made America.”

Oh I joined the club 15 years ago when I made the mistake of handling a rat and not washing my hands before replacing the water in my green anaconda's cage. Convincing a 12ft anaconda that my arm was in fact not food was not a fun experience, lol. I still have a scar on my wrist and you better believe that I am still extremely careful about washing my hands and paying attention to snakes movements particularly if they're over 6ft.
I thought it was pretty adorable. My boyfriend says it's a good thing that snakes don't comprehend what we're saying because every time these babies hiss at me or get feisty I talk at them in baby talk and tell them how adorable they are. He says I would give them a complex if they knew what I wasn't the least bit intimated by their antics, lol. This was also the anery that I'm pretty sure I'm going to keep. I was hoping it was a male but alas it's a female. Still keeping her though. I'll have to come up with a name for her at some point besides Anery-1. After her biting me I'm leaning towards Mileena (Mortal Kombat reference).

Could be worse, I've heard of permanent nerve damage & such too. SO not fun!
I definitely lucked out. She only got about half her teeth into me and I was able to pry her loose by myself in a few minutes. She was never that aggressive which is why I let my guard down that day. Since then I've always been extremely careful around any of the big ones, even if they're generally mellow tempered. It's always the quiet ones who get you, lol.
