  • [Misc] Kitten Behavioral Update

So, I took Kitten out to change her soiled bedding the day before yesterday. She wound herself up in the towel I had put over her head and stayed put on the floor until I was done and put her back. No strikes. Well, yesterday I got a little brave and decided since she's eaten recently and didn't try to eat me when I cleaned her bin out, I'd try handling her. I put only a wash rag over her head and lifted her out carefully. Once we were to the couch I let her crawl out of the rag on her own accord. I thought it went pretty well but as we all know, I know nothing about reading boa body language so I took a video. She stayed out for maybe 15 minutes before my dog came over to investigate, she tensed up and I decided it was in all of our best interest she go back in the bin. Let me know what you think based on the video I'm attaching - breakthrough or am I missing something?

In the video she looked calm and curious. The thing with snakes is it takes patients. No such thing as overnight changes for a snake's behavior. As your confidence builds you will do better.

She looks fine to me too...but it takes "patience" not "patients"! LOL Keep up the good work!
